Which 9mm glock?
Hey guys! I am thinking of foregoing buying a hi power clone, and using my LE discount to buy a 9mm glock.
(I already own a g36, and a g23)
So between the glock 17 and glock 19 which one would you guys choose and why? I can pick either up for roughly 400$.

19 if you're gonna carry, 17 if not. But, if you want my honest opinion, you should buy both.

since you have their 'compact' in a 23, get their full size in a 17. or go even bigger and get their 34 and do some competitive shooting.

17. As has been said you can get a conversion barrel for your 23 if you want to shoot 9mm out of a compact.

I own both and vote for the 17. Compared to most other manufacturers full size models, the 17 is really more of a compact. Plus I can't get a full grip on the 19 and much prefer the smooth trigger face on the 17 as well as shoot it better overall.

Since your using you LE discount go with the 17 and pick up a conversion barrel for your 23. I would even suggest you look at the 34. Neither the 17 or 34 are great CCW choices IMHO but you have that in you 36 and 23.
If you stuck on having a 19 save dough some and just pick up a conversion barrel, a mag, 1000 rounds of ammo, or or 500 rounds and a 357 sig barrel too. Oh the joy of Glock's modular design.

I own a Gen 2 17 and a Gen 4 19. The 17 just feels right to me, because it's what I've gripped since Clinton convinced me to get it in '94. The 19 conceals easier, though. I'm glad to have both. I would suggest 19 if you plan to conceal, 17 if you don't. Then, purchase the other later.

I carry the 19 on tee shirt days and the g22 which is the same size as the 17 on days I am wearing sweatshirts or heavier clothing. The 19 is def an all around gun though. I will say I can def tell when im carrying the g22. The g 19 wears much better when CCW.

Wow! Didn't think I would get so many opinions! thanks everyone! I actually didnt know i could even get a conversion barrel! Guess i have a lot of things to learn!
I really like the full size 17! Especially since I want to start shooting matches possibly (idpa, gssf etc) although I have always loved the g19...such a hard decision!!

If you have large hands the bottom of your palm may get pinched if you try to maintain a shooting grip during reloads on a 19,23,32. They do carry ever so nicely though!
Keep in mind the 17 is still fairly compact and equates to a 1911 Commander size gun. If you have thoughts of playing IPSIC, with anything longer than the 17 it will exclude you from the "production" class.
For me it's the 17.

My order of preference goes sub compact, then compact, then full size.
Carry is my primary motive for acquiring handguns.
