10/22 Mags BX25 vs Butler Creek steel lips
What do you guys think? Between the two mags, is there any real advantage to the Ruger made 25 round mags vs the Butler Creek mags? They seem to be about the same price, but I like that the Butler Creek mags are clear. Any thoughts or input? I have never tried the Ruger 25 rounders.

The BX-25's are the best Magazines I have found over the many years I have owned the 10/22. Some of the others function ok , but the 2 bx-25's I have have been flawless since I got them when they were first released.

I have a few of the off-brand mags, including the Bulter Creek, I sold all the other brands and now only have the Ruger mags.
Function perfectly and are very durable. I have dropped them a few times in the ground, loaded and unloaded, dropped on concrete and river rocks, and they have all survved with out a hick-up.

Same for me; the BX-25 is top-of-the-line in my book. I have 6 of them now, and I've stopped using all the other hi-cap 10/22 mags I have in the mag locker.
Actually, my experience with the Butler Creek mags was that I had better functioning with the Hot Lips than the Steel Lips versions. The last two Steel Lips mags I bought would only feed about 20-22 shots reliably; if I loaded any more than that I'd get at least one stoppage.
You can also take the BX-25 mags apart for cleaning and/or repair (not that any have shown a need for either, so far).

I've been thoroughly impressed with my BX25 mags, and I do have the steel lip Butler Creek mags. I've never had an issue with either personally. The Butler Creeks are clear and they can "hook" together, but the BX25 is overall better in quality. If I had to choose, I'd choose the BX25 mags.

I have on BX25 and like it. Haven't run it through but a few times. Thinking of selling off all my hot lips and trading up.
Anyone know if they are planning on making the BX25s in clear?
