My friend found these Hornady & Sierra 6mm & 6.5mm bullets + some rifle cases + a few loaded LIVE rifle rounds ( red tips ) + some mounting hardware. The top two boxes contain bullets. The Norma has used Norma cases. The boxes seem pretty old.

I still shoot 6mm and a good friend shoots 6.5 so yes people still shot them. Not as popular as the .308 or .223.

I had no idea since I only load pistol. Was wondering if newer bullets replaced these. I was shocked that someone would dispose of LIVE ammo this way. BTW: are these old Norma brass considered any better than the usual range pickup?

Norma brass is good brass, I've several boxes of it for .243 cartridges. BTW, 6mm is the same as .243, a very popular cartridge.

No one should impose of live ammo in a dumpster. Just my opinion.

6mm Remington, .243 Winchester: good for anything from woodchucks to deer.

6.5 by 55 Swede. First cartridge I ever reloaded, and a sweet round it is. I had a Norwegian Krag that was sporterized when I was 16 - 50 years ago. Norma brass was the best. More recently I had a Swedish Mauser - same round. Very well balanced.

There are other more modern cartridges for those bullets.

Looks like part of an old stock buyout I got into . This was part of the bottom layer of the ammo can I packed it in. (And I use 6.5 bullets in three different flavors of rifle rounds)

The 6.5 mm is King of the 1000 yard high power competition. Once you spin those things up, they fly like they're on rails. The old Swede does just as well as some of the new cartridges (260 Remington, 6.5 Creedmore, 6.5 Lapua, etc.). The only cartridge that offers anything out of the ordinary is the 6.5-284. But very few guys use the 6.5-284 because of the terrible barrel erosion associated with the round.

I am having a 6.5 -06 built. I don't mind the long action and I think the 06 case might be a bit more "throat friendly" Not that I am pushing it for competition but as an all around rifle, well that, and I bought the dies in that buy out in a moment of weakness.

I have read and heard rumors the 6.5 284 isn't as bad today as it was in the beginning. I was tempted to build one as a project, but with my luck the barrel would last just long enough to get a good load. Then it wouldn't work in the new barrel!

And yes Norma is great brass.
