What to mount on top of a pistol gripped 12ga.?
My Mossberg has the traditional mount holes on top of it. I think all Mossbergs do.
Anyway, I'm thinking of mounting either a laser or a light on top but I'd want it connected to a pressure switch on the grip. So it would be automatic rather than something I'd have to take time to turn on.
Anything like that exist?
What do you have on yours?
Thanks

I don't know about you, but I'm taking the head off a Barney bobble head and putting it on top of my shotgun when I get one.

Why are you mounting anything ? Are you mounting it for cool factor or serious work ? Do you need a light ? Do you need a laser ? Can you get by without ? What the guns role and what's your needs ?

This may serve as a SHTF weapon of sorts. Short of that, I have no real use for it picked out as I won't use it for SD/HD.
I suppose I could get by without anything mounted on it. I was just curious what the options were.
Thanks

If you were going to mount a light/laser on it, I wouldn't mount it on top. Get a railed pump fore end and a laser light combo.

Don't mount a light up there. Use a CDM Gear barrel mount for that. I wouldn't mount anything. I did put a nite bead on the front of my PGP so I can see the end of the barrel at night to help with point shooting. I think a laser however cool is useless on a PGP. You fire for affect then adjust that fire.
As far as SHTF, I want less things that can break and less things that can weight me down.

I agree with this posting.
If it's for SHTF, then I would get a shotgun with Ghost Ring sights. They don't use batteries. For around $45.00 you can get a front night sight for it. Once again, no batteries needed. Then you can mount, what you want on the rail on the forearm.

I would mount a stock on it first.

I use to have a Red Dot sight on top and a Steamight TLR-2 underneath.
Unless you have a need for a sight on the gun, like shooting slugs at a distance, you can get pretty good point shooting the gun from the hip in daylight and you can get deadly and fast with the laser/light in low light.
