Benelli M4 extensions?

Hi, does anyone have any experiences, good, or bad, with mag extensions on their Benelli M4?

I replaced the factory mag tube with a full length mag tube from Dave's Metal Works and have been completely satisfied. There are a couple of videos on Youtube how to do it. You'll need a heat gun or small propane torch to heat up the factory tube at the receiver to break free the thread locking compound they use. Don't worry--won't hurt the gun a bit.. Just go easy with it and heat some and test it. It will break free with very little force when the thread locker gets hot enough (~250 degrees)

The DMW mag tube fits perfect, matches the factory finish and my gun has been flawless with the new full length tube installed.

I did the same thing on my M4.

You need to be VERY CAREFUL how you do this so you don't run afoul of rule 922(r) - a favorite of the BATF.

As I understand it, you need to use a full American Made tube, replacing part of the tube leaves the other part an imported component.

You actually need to replace 3 imported parts with American Made parts: the magazine tube, the shell follower (Brownells has a US made part) and the forend (I used a SureFire after calling to verify that it is made in the US).
