Loose Front Sight
When I bought my G17 in March I had Truglo night sights put on it. Last week I noticed that the front sight wobbles and you can feel a little movement in the screw that attaches it. But that screw is tight and I can't loosen it or tighten it. I have no idea what caused this and it may have been that way since day one, but I would have thought I would have noticed it.
Anyone have any ideas or similar experiences. I'm going to take it to the gunsmith this week and if nothing else, I'll have them put the factory sights back on.

if you dont have a sight wrench, take it back to whoever installed it. the screw feels tight because of locktite. but I am sure you can turn it some.

Take it back to whomever put the sights on and have them fix it. If you bought it that way, that might be your dealer. Good luck.

I've had that happen with TruGlo's on a G30SF. I run Trijicon HD's now, and I much prefer these. They are higher quality in my opinion, and I like the sight picture better. Good luck in whatever you decide for the fix.

Check this thread, Post #29 that I made several months ago:

ETA: The NEW stock for TFOs seems to have a shorter screw, so may not need shortening.

I've had to shorten the screw on several TruGlo front sights.

Just got back from the gunsmith where he shortened the screw by a thread and all is fine now. However that means that sight has been loose since day one and I never noticed. That disappoints me.

Did the gunsmith then clean all the mating parts and re-Loctite before reassembly?

I didn't see or ask but assume it was at very least loctited. I'm learning.
