Found this in my yard today
We just put a contract on a house out in the country. It sits on approximately 11 acres and 10 of it is heavily wooded. I walked the property this week and found this about 150-200 yards from the house out in the woods. It's about half way back on the property. You can't see the house from here nor can you see the tree stand from the house. It sits on the edge of a nice creek that cuts through the center of the property.
Looks like the previous owner had a plush deer stand. While I love shooting and have been doing so all my life I have never hunted anything larger than coyotes. Maybe that will change.

Very cool, I love hunting deer and most of the time don't really care if I shoot one or not.

Nice!!!
That looks awesome!
Did you crawl up in it? Does it feel/look structurally sound, or is it rotted out at all?

It's quite solid. The house is a foreclosure and less than 10 years old. The deer condo is built very well and has a loft for sleeping, wrap around porch, glass windows that open and close and a door.

I bet it was built as a tree house and not a deer blind.

You need some chairs for the outside, and a massive cooler for all of the beer on the inside. Then you will be set

I have had a few dreams where I buy a house and shortly after find cool stuff, you got the real deal.
Need an elevator to get the beer up.

it's obviously a deer stand. There is a clear line of sight up and down the creek bed. The tin portion is all camo and the spent slug casings that abound in, on and around the stand speak volumes. It's nowhere near the house and there are a few empty beer cans and styrofoam coffee cups in the enclosed portion. Finally, there are 3 empty spray cans of some deer scent in the enclosed portion.
The land backs up to 1000+ acres of forest with 10 acres on either side.

Looks like an excellent guest bedroom, or "rumpus room", depending on your mood.
(If you are into "rumping", that is)
