SPX 930 going on vacation to Texas
Well I've decided to ship my spx 930 back to Mossberg for warranty work..
Early on I had the issue that has been reported on he Internet about the bolt getting hung up on the elevator when the bolt was released.
Seemed to get better, but now it's really reared it ugly head again... If you release the bolt by "slowly" depressing the bolt release, it's almost a guarantee to happen.. If you release the bolt with a hard firm press, it more than likely slams forward without issue..
Anyway. Spoke to mossberg today.. They seemed pretty pleasant so I boxed it up and out it ships tomorrow..
The woman I spoke to said they'd either fix it or replace it ... So off it goes.. I was told the turnaround is 2-3 weeks...
I will report back when it gets home..
** the following is not my video but someone has posted the same issue:

that is good news about the turnaround time. I'm sure I will be sending in my brand new 930spx soon as well. I have had far too many fte's in the first 250 rounds. Are they sending you a shipping label?

No contrary to what others have posted, they told me that they couldn't pay to pick it up..
I've had it for a while now so I wasn't going to make a stink about it. Cost me $18 FedEx ground and they of course pay to ship back.... I love the gun and I just want it perfect so I don't care. Luckily it's a long gun so I didn't have to deal with that overnight air crap because that would be cost prohibitive.
If you've been having ftes still,, you might as well, send it in. I know it sucks.

Ya it does suck! However, I was able to talk my way into a shipping label because my 930 spx shotgun wasn't "safe." Hopefully they actually do something when they get it. I've heard more than a few posts complaining that their shotgun was returned with no change. I actually have faith because my Mossberg 500 has been the best gun I have ever owned.

I really like the look and feel of those guns, but I've heard of way to many problems that I don't want to to mess with.

+1. I've come close to buying one a few times, but the number of issues reported stops me.
I'll stick with my old Winchester Defender for shotgun.

FYI update...
I called Mossberg to get a status to learn the gun would be delivered tomorrow...
That's fast turn around! Less than 2 weeks from the time they received (the 28th) back in my hands..
Lets hope the repair worked.

I did ask, and the customer service rep said all he could see on his system was "parts replacement"..
He also said there would be more detail on the work order when I receive it
