The reason why Germany has the most robust economy in the EU. I though FN was expensive, $100 for a spring? WOW that is just sad.
No thanks to that HK....you make great stuff but it ain't that great.

Of course the recoil spring is worth $100. It helps the gun chamber a round loaded backward into the magazine. Let's see the $10 Wolff Spring does that, eh?!!

I'm just joking around.
In all seriousness though, the spring does 25,000 rounds.

If you can put over $6,000 of ammo through the gun before a tune up, a $100 spring doesn't seem so bad.

You right the cost ratio is not horrible but just the concept of a $100 spring sucks.

A lot of other springs will do 25,000-rounds too and they don't cost $100 a pop either.

No. Not $100. Try more like $17. $24 if you need the 9mm version.

Sure they do but how many other manufactures go on the record and say you can run them out to that round count?

It's around the $100 mark for the complete recoil spring assembly which includes the guide rod, buffer, spring and retainer. You don't need to change the whole assembly when changing springs unless the rod itself is damaged. All you need is the spring and maybe the buffer if it's in bad shape.

Fun things about buying a Glock that come to mind...
1. Having a spare RSA that only cost you 8-18 bucks in your bag.
http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Products.aspx?CAT=157
2. Having a buddy that thinks something that costs more is better. Shooting better than your buddy at the range with your "cheap" Glock. :D

Right...HK can guarantee that each of these springs will perform for at least 25,000-rounds without caveat?
Of course they won't, there would be exceptions taken.
Just like Les Baer and their 1.5" accuracy claims from their pistols...with caveat.
So excuse me for not being too impressed.
My Glock 17's spring is still the original one from 1988. I stopped counting after ten thousand rounds and that was at least a decade plus ago.

Dont want a Glock? Buy a Beretta PX4. Dont want DA/SA trigger? Buy a Beretta PX4 Type C. But whatever you do, don't waste your money on overpriced HK's or Sig's.

I have owned Sigs, HKs,Glocks,S&Ws, etc. The value of a product is up to the buyer. Regardless of what they pay if the buyer is happy does that make it overpriced. For you a Sig or Hk is. For me they are not. Neither opinion is a fact, but merely a decision we both made.

Hk or Sig can not do anything better than a Glock or a Beretta can do for about half the price. That's a fact.

My SIG 229 in 357 doesn't beat the snot out of my hands the way my Glock 32 used to. I also got that SIG for about the same price as a new Glock in the same caliber.

I am not saying they can, but not everything in life is about function. I am just saying that if the buyer is happy is it overpriced?
