Never done BBQ in a rotisserie. We used to do this though and it was really good:
DELI ROTISSERIE CHICKEN
This recipes is straight from the grocery deli, where
that wonderful aroma of rotisserie chicken always
makes shoppers immediately hungry.
1 (4 to 5 pound) whole roasting chicken
1 tsp salt
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp dried thyme
1 Tbs olive oil
Take the giblets, neck, back, etc. out of the chicken.
Combine the dry ingredients in a small bowl. Rub the
chicken with the olive oil. Apply the dry rub all over
the chicken. Tie the wings and legs together and put
the chicken on the skewer. Install in rotissserie and
set timer for 1 1/2 hours. Time will vary depending on
rotisserie and size of chicken. Chicken is done when
skin is brown and crispy and juice out of chicken is
I would only apply sauce the last 15 minutes or so doing BBQ.
