Ive never seen a Gyrojet in person, but I bet it would be pretty cool to shoot.

BAC probably found one in 99%, for half what it's worth, at his local shop. They also had a matched set of Dardicks NIB.
Sometimes I think Willy Wonka runs his local shop. They seem to get nice stuff in all the time.

Back in the mid-1980s, I used to see these guns for sales at gun shows all the time. Not cheap, naturally.

I was always intrigued with those, but its not a conventional gun.
It would be cool to shoot one though.

the bore and line of sight are so far above the hand. It must be tough to shoot and have a lot of flip.

For $175 a shot, I would have wanted something a bit more visually impressive.

Sarco was blowing these out at only $99 each with twenty rounds in 1980. I bought one just for grins along with an extra box of ammo.
They are fun to shoot, but it takes the rocket longer to leave the barrel than a regular cartridge pistol. So, holding it steady for that extra half-second was essential to accurate shooting. Of course, it was only good for 10-12" accuracy at 50 yards anyway. The rocket reached terminal velocity at about 20-30 yards, so it wasn't a great close-in weapon. The sweet spot for both accuracy and velocity was at about 20-30 yards, just as the rocket quit.
Sometimes I wish I still had it. But the ammo was expensive back then, and ridiculously expensive now. I'd rather have a Dardick.
