Ah, it's nice to see a craftsman with Old-World values who nutures that age-old "the customer is always right" attitude. And so well-spoken, too. I'll bet his mommy is REAL proud of him, too. But let's take it easy on 'im, OK? He's been in jail only once, so how bad could he really be?

Honestly, he's priced himself out of range of those who would buy from him ("Uh, I'll give you this bag of crack and my best friend's stolen car for it.") and anyone with enough money to spend on a custom gun is going to go to a legitimate 'smith instead of dealing with that goof-off.

I agree. Learning to grip the pistol would save these people a lot of time and money on grip modifications.

So I guess this means he will guarantee his expert craftsmanship for the life of the gun!

It's personal preference. A persons grip has nothing to do with it, (unless of course you are holding it like a 1970's police officer from the movies). The HK USP Compact is "stippled" from the factory and it feels like it wont slip out of your hands if they get a little sweaty, its almost like fine grit sandpaper. I feel like I always have a solid grip on it.

The M&P is another story, those grips are buttery smooth and if your hands start sweating I don't feel like I have a real good grip on it.

The Gen 4 Glocks however are not bad because of the little "polymids" or whatever they are called that are now on the grip.

Its the same thing as the stock M4/ M16 family of rifles. The stock grips are awfully smooth whereas you replace it with say the Magpul MIAD which is stippled from the factory and you feel like you would never have your grip slip on it.

How you grip the pistol has absolutely nothing to do with a modification that is "personal preference". My Gen 4 G19 is stippled, I have a stippled M&P 45 FS, and my mid size M&P 45 will get the same treatment at some point. These aren't 1911's where I can swap the grip panels at will for the desired texture depending on the environment the gun will be used in. These three pistols are the work horses of the ones I own, and they are not safe queens. When you're out in the heat for days at a time, and rolling around in the dirt it's nice to have a gun that's not sliding all over the place. You can grab the pistol with a death grip if you'd like, but if you're hands are all sweaty and dirty, all you're doing is tiring your arm muscles from gripping too tight, the gun will still slide around and you will have to re adjust your grip avery few rounds.

Just my $0.02
