Colt mag question
Anyone have issues with Colt 1911 mags? Both that came with my Commander seem to. After the last shot my slide will not lock back. I shoot my Kimber and Springfeild and other mags without this issue.

At matches, the trouble seems to always be associated with those magazines. You can't ever say anything, though, because "Colt's" is stamped on the bottom of them. The guy that owns them is "sure" they are the best because of the branding.
They suck huavos. Tripp is the only way to go for a guy that really shoots, and competes with a 1911.

It doesnt help the fact that there are probably more fake colt mags out there than there are real ones.

I ditch all oem magazines and replace with checkmate hybrid 7 rounders.

There hadn't been a real Colt mag in probably a few decades. Colt brand mags are either made by Metalform or Check-Mate. Neither are well known for quality products.

I have one or two that I use sometimes at the range. I think they're crap. They feel like the quality is lacking. I just use tripp or Wilson mags. I forgot who makes Dan wesson's mags, but they work pretty good. I'm not really a fan of Springfield's mags either, but I'll use them at the range too.

Original Colt mags worked quite well. Copy Colt mags don't. Is it a wonder?
