Is Safariland a good holster?

I'm looking at a leather Safariland paddle holster with thumbreak retention. It seems to be a good idea to have the thumbreak for motorcycling and none of my current holsters have it.

Is the Safariland a good quality product?

Thousands of Safariland holsters are in daily use with good results. I have one that I just replaced after a dozen or so years of daily use. The holster was still fine but had lost some of the cordura finish. Maybe just me, but on a bike I would be very cautious of a paddle holster and would feel much more comfortable with a belt holster with a thumb break, security-wise.

I would not use a paddle holster on a bike. If you go down, its going to break off (holster from paddle) and your gun will go who knows where. It's not going under your leather jacket very easily either, paddle holsters always ride out farther from the body than most holsters.
