I fail to see a practical purpose for being that strong. They look silly and will never use that outside of competition.

Just watched the video, looked fairly easy for him as well. Such a massive chest, my scrawny ass has like double the distance to lift from my chest to lockout. Lol

Stay out of the thread then. Seems pretty simple to me.

I don't know Eric. Is he on steroids or something? I hope he is doing it all by natural.

And there goes this thread, as usual.

Keep in mind there are many drug tested meets out there. Lots of guys are on juice, and lots of guys are not.

I am learning the powerlifting's world, so could you please bear with me little?

I don't understand when you said there are lot of guys on juice and yet the meets have many drug test over there. How do those guys bypass the test?

I am curious, is it necessary to be on juice to do 700 bench press or we could do it by natural?

Only nonlifters say everyone is on juice, and no one does it natural. (wasn't totally directed at you Glock30Eric)

Some guys do steroids, and some guys do not.

Even in the same meet, there can be drug tested divisions and non tested divisions.

Or some meets aren't tested at all.

Kinda like at a car race there are stock classes and modified classes, but they are all there on the same day.

Got it!

I was wondering.

Is steriod a taboo thing to talk in the powerlifting world? Are they embrassed to say that they are on juice?

Do they have to inject the steriods in their body or there is a different way to get it in the body? Do they have to inject into a legs to make it bigger or it could have the effect on whole body regardless where the inject is shot at?

Aren't the steriods cheap? I don't know where they could get it...

First: Steroids, not steriods.

Drug tested meets do not test every competitor. At $70 per test, it's not economically sensible. When I was competing, they'd usually test the top 3 and/or anyone who broke a state or national record. I generally lifted in a nontested federation because the promoter who put on the meets that were nearest to me was with that fed. I sometimes came in behind guys who juiced, and sometimes I beat them.

Personally, I don't care if someone is using steroids, growth hormone or concentrated extract of cannabis-smoking Rhodesian baby brains. As long as their federation/league rules permit it. It definitely is a matter that belongs within the realm of sports and should not be a matter of law.

I don't know why I said steriods instead steroids. Anyway thanks for the spell check.

I get it and thank you for explaining!

better lifting through chemicals

Ya know, the chemicals merely enhance the natural ability, they don't make the weak suddenly strong, or turn the pencil necked geek into Dorian Yates. I could use steroids all day and I'd still never be a champion lifter or bodybuilder.

I think a lot of people who have never lifted seriously or don't know anything about lifting are quick to start calling people out for using the juice. When I graduated from HS, I was 5'11" and 135 lbs. You read that correctly, 135 scrawny lbs. As soon as I graduated, I joined a local gym and had an insane drive to put on some weight due to all the ridicule I took in school. I got so sick and tired or being made fun of for being skinny.

Well, I absulutely busted my butt in the gym for 3 hrs a day, 6 days a week and studied lifting techniques. I went on a very high calorie diet with tons of protein. I had gained 40 lbs in one year. I put on 25 more lbs over the next couple of years. I went from being able to BARELY bench 105 lbs to getting 4 reps with 320. I can't tell you how many people that I would run into from high school later and so many people accused me of juicing. I have never touched a steroid in my life. Heck, I wouldn't know what it looked like if you handed it to me. Just so happens I was a late bloomer and just naturally filled out and then put on a lot of good weight from lifting.

Now, imagine if someone was genetically gifted with good muscle mass to begin with and then went into the same type of intensive training that I did. It is not hard to see that some guys can get really big and strong without ever touching a steroid.

Just my $0.02 worth......

A football lineman would use that to push off anyone opposing him. That would go for anyone stupid enough to try to close with him in a personal way. If he pushed back, jeez how far would the opposite person fly?
