Keep talking to him. Keep being positive, don't over due it though. You don't want to put him in DKA, he has enough on his plate.

Been following this Russ, will keep Da Law in our thoughts and prayers here and I've asked my wife's very fierce prayer group to pray for him.

Keep your spirits up as well. Good vibes are contagious!

Mrs RussP and I are just back from sitting with Da Law, visiting with Mrs Da Law and other family members, and, yeah, a bunch of cops.

Da Law is better today by couple more baby steps. I sat and held onto his hand and talked with him for about 20 minutes. "With him?" Yeah he responded with squeezes and little tiny facial changes.

One squeeze response was to when I told him about the almost 2,500 views, prayers in this thread. He knows...

Mrs Da Law sends again her thanks for all the prayers.

Da Law's Captain and one of the department Chaplains came today. I told them about your prayers. Seems they too had been in contact with friends in other agencies in and out of state. More is better!

The Captain also stressed to her that anything and everything she needs and will need that a Brother or Sister in LE could do, would be done. She said she was beginning to really understand the very real meaning of the LE Family. Last week, she came home and found cops cleaning up around the exterior of the house, trimming hedges and bushes, that sort of thing. I told her the first time I came to the hospital, "I've got your back. These cops her, they've got your back." She understands.

Please continue the prayers. Please continue viewing the thread.

Thank you...

Thanks for the update Russ. Any friend of yours I know is a darned good person.

The gift of life is special and precious. The bond of friendship enhances and underscores the importance of that gift. You may not think that your actions are making much of an impact of DaLaw, or his family, but on a scale of 1 >> 10 you are probably ranking a 14 with regards to positive impact.

Russ, could I take this opportunity to ask... how did Da Law's brain cyst become known? Was it an ongoing medical condition that Da Law had, or did he lose consciousness or otherwise have to be taken in quickly for an emergency procedure? Any other medical reasons for the cyst formation? Sometimes these circumstances can be good learning opportunities for the rest of us, give us some warning signs to look for in others, etc.

Hi Scotty.

I hope you understand when I say I cannot disclose or discuss details of Da Law's specific case.

I can say pay attention to headaches.

Remember, and I am preaching to the choir here, even when you do everything right and do it properly, bad things can happen.

Stay Safe...

A quick update...

Things are continuing to improve ever so slightly. He's receiving increasing amounts of physical therapy and will be moved soon into a therapy wing.

The stream of visitors continues, that is good, but so much so that Da Law isn't getting enough good, solid rest. So, for the next few days, Mrs Da Law is going to keep visitors to a minimum.

Da Law's LE brothers and sisters continue providing excellent support for the family.

Please keep the prayers, the views of the thread coming. Mrs Da Law really looks forward to my daily text to her with the number of views.

Thank you all...

Stay Safe!

Good to know that he is improving. What kind of music does he respond to? Or, has it been tried? If I am not mistaken certain kinds of music may have a positive affect on his brain through his hearing. Right brain activity normally has to do with abstracts; music, and such like.

I would suggest some of his favourites mixed in classical music. The classical music having a set temple of 40 to 60 beats per minute. Something from Johann Sebastian Bach, like the Goldberg Variations.

Still on the radar. Pray-dar?

Anyway, I know how important all this is, and I'm adding my prayers to the bunch.

He is receiving music therapy from Mrs Da Law. It works.

That is good to know that that and other things are working for him.

FWIW I know it's rough. But, nothing is impossible with almighty G-d. It's real good to know that he and his family have a lot of good local support.

Mrs Da Law told me today that there's been no significant change. We are hunkering down for the long road ahead. He'll be moving into a rehab facility within a few days.

Your views here, your prayers, they have given strength to Mrs Da Law, and, yeah, to me and Mrs RussP.

I've heard people say, "I've got your back." I have experienced it when real bullets from real weapons, big and small, were zipping past. It is why my sorry ass is here today.

I've heard it when the words turned out to be hollow. Kind of makes you distrustful of someone who says that, but hasn't been in the situations you've been in where good turns into bad in less than an adrenalin pumped heartbeat.

This response from all of you, it confirms the another dimension of, "I've got your back." It is the unselfish support of a Brother, his family and his loyal friends, the support that binds the LE Family together. It also is what some outside of LE can't wrap their heads around.

Again, thank you...

And, please...Stay Safe!
