US unemployment rate likely rose on weak hiring
US unemployment rate likely rose on weak hiring
Quote:
With a month to go until the presidential election, the government on Friday issues its September jobs report, expected to show an uptick in the U.S. unemployment rate after employers added only a modest number of jobs.
Economists forecast that the unemployment rate edged up last month to 8.2 percent from 8.1 percent, according to a survey by FactSet. Employers are expected to have added 111,000 jobs.

Next week, Obama will deliver a Jewish baby in a cab, and, on election day eve, he will catch a Latino jumping from a burning building.......

Who could have predicted this? I'm shocked.
http://money.msn.com/business-news/a...05&id=15640586
........figures lie and liars figure. Go figure.
Yeah, it's just like magic, except:
"The revisions showed that governments actually added 63,000 jobs in July and August, compared with earlier estimates that showed losses.
Still, many of the jobs added last month were part time. The number of people with part-time jobs who wanted full-time work rose 7.5 percent to 8.6 million."

The rate has dropped .3% IN ONE MONTH due to adding 114,000 jobs? 114,000 jobs doesn't even keep up with population growth.
This is total fraud and manipulation. You better wake up people.

43 straight months of unemployment being over 8% and, miraculously, the last report before the election has it dropping to 7.8%?
Let me guess, the real and correct figures will be "adjusted" the day after the election, right?

Adding jobs isn't the only thing affecting the rate.

It's not the last report before the election. There will be another report 4 days before the election.

I suspect we'll be treated to 100% employment by Nov 1.

Not understanding who calculates the rate doesn't mean it's prudent to invent conspiracies.

We know who calculates the rate. It's not in question.
People who depend on the government for their job.
Nice try.

Yeah, reporting on what the .gov said.
The article OP cited was correct. The .gov admitted to only 114,000 jobs, which doesn't even keep pace with growth in the population. If anything, the rate went up.
It could not have dropped a 1/10th, much less 3/10ths.
