Foodsaver
Just got it in the mail today. Found a bunch of cool stuff to vacuum seal. This thing works awesome and I'm very happy with it. Dangerously addicting though. I might run out of bags tonight.

If the model you bought has the accessory port, I highly recommend the mason jar adapter. It allows you to vacuum seal foods you dont want crushed right in your inexpensive mason jars that cost about $0.75ea($8/case).

Everyone that I know who has one loves it. I still haven't bought one yet because I think I would just look for things to seal for no reason.

Yep - they're like a label-maker that way. You LOOK for things to use it on.
I used to keep my spare clothes, towel and washcloth vacuum-sealed in the vehicle ghb stuff. That way they not only took up less space, they were always clean and dry as well. Don't anymore, as I don't tend to let things set unused as long as I used to.
I do keep my truck carbine in a sealed foodsaver bag though. Cleaned well, oiled lightly, sealed in the bag, and then stuck in its case; keeps it protected from gunk & condenstion both.

We love ours..
We have sealed all kinds of stuff. Don't use the premade bags.. get the rolls of bag material..
IDEA:
DW says I should show this one also.. just for laughs..
It's a long story...

If you haven't already, sign up for Foodsavers email notices.
They have some very good sales on supplies and sealers.

Costco is running a special for the bag pack next week, with their coupon, FYI.
I use it for food, work, prep stuff. All practical.

Its a must if you process your own deer. Properly done I think the meat is better after being defrosted than wrapping in butcher paper.
Pat the meat dry with a paper towel, seal, and then freeze as quickly as possible. Dont overload the freezer all at once. Having some airspace will freeze the meat faster making it better when defrosted.
