Pretty gun.

IIRC my first OJT trainer participated in the AF trials for those. Not sure exactly what -#. He liked the gun, I think he bought one when he got out to go home and work for the Indiana State Police.

Actually, the 539 is basically the same thing as a steel 39.

True but here on the coast, I have never laid eyes on one. Stainless was the rage

Very nice

The 539 is fairly rare. They were only built between 1982 and 1985 and only about 5000 or so were made.

That's not many compared other Smith models.

very cool, my friend inherited one from his dad when he passed the steel model you referrnced i wish he was more into guns all i told him is its worth a bunch of $ and not to sell it ever unless he got with me first
