2011 sti vip 45

Finally got around to taking some pictures of the my new STI VIP 45. Also just finished up doing the custom trigger guard work with the slant cut corner, and high grip undercut.

Also hanging out in the picture is my new INFORCE 6VT LED 200 lumens flashlight. Stay tune, once I get more use of it, I'll be doing a review on it. So far, it's been two days and I really like it. Momentary on tail switch, and twist for constant on.

Very nice gun, would love to have one in that frame/slide combo. Even though I really like my single stacks for carry, the 2011 frame seems to fit my hand the best of anything. This is the first time I've noticed someone doing that slant cut on the trigger guard, it definitely improves the looks. I'm wondering if one of these could be rounded more to be more conventional looking if I had one done up?

Thank you.

I'm waiting to get another hi-cap frame in to start building my 3rd hi-cap/2011.

The 2011 grip is pretty the same width as a 1911 with standard thickness grips. However, the 2011's front strap is just a little more square, so it "feels" thicker in your hands.

This is the second one that I had done w/ this slant cut. Here's my first one.

As for rounding the trigger guard to be more conventional 1911, it's possible. There are plenty of material there for such treatment.
