Look, with all due respect, I have posted this before - I voted for Ross Perot. I viewed him as a viable candidate with a real shot at changing the country.
I've aged many years. I've come to recognize that the primaries are the time to get off your ass and fight for your candidate. Get involved, get active...you can make a difference at that time. However afterward, you are down to 2...maybe (as the case with Perot) 3 viable choices. Sorry, but the majority of the country may have a much different opinion on who is the best person for the job than you do or I do.
In the end, you get to vote for YOUR choice. And whether your choice is Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Gary Johnson, etc...the country will narrow it down to just 2-3 viable choices. If you decide to vote for someone other than these, the incumbent will likely win. Yea, it sucks. However it is the best that we've got and what we've got is much better than other nations.
Good luck and please use your vote wisely.

And what are his chances of making a difference?

Thanks JFrame.....my sweetie teaches fifth grade at a catholic school, and she did teacher training in public schools. Great teachers are huge (I feel they've helped me immeasurably), but your parents are your primary role models, and your parents can teach you more than just about any teacher can. (at higher levels, you do need teachers with expertise and extensive training).
Teachers can inspire the kids, and I'll always love the five or ten best teachers in my life. But I spent 25 years as a student (12 yrs, 1-12, skipped K; 4 yrs undergrad physics; 9 yrs grad physics). Plenty of teachers

Haha. Millions of people voted for Ron Paul, and he raised a lot of money.
You are confusing people with the media.
When Obama is re-elected, we will revisit this conversation.

The third party will caucus with one of the two major parties, just like they do now.
Third parties aren't viable.
You think Johnson will do what you want him to do solo?

That will be pathetic. I actually think Ryan will look like a bully picking on a mentally-challenged child with 1 leg and no arms.

Obama would have to get a promotion to rise to Pauls level, but just the same, by himself Ron Paul is sort of like a bodily function. If you don't flush it, it draws really annoying flies.
(I'll spell it out, the Paulbotas are ****flies,)

Maybe have Ryan give him this hat at the end of the debate?

Since RP didn't make it to the stage why don't we talk about the debate?

Ok, then.
Obama is going to violate the constitution because he wants to impose his own view on the country..
Romney is going to violate the constitution because he wants to impose his own view on the country..

I can't agree more...I believe the decline in student scores in this country (in general) can be attributed to a large degree in the degradation of the nuclear family.
There is a great tendency to blame the economy, and the fact that both parents have to work. But I recall that it was my father (who worked full time), who spent nights with me at the dinner table going over my homework with me. My mother spoke very little English, so it was up to him. He could have just packed it in after 9 hours on the job and a long commute home -- but come 8 o'clock, he was my tutor.
Parents (or some surrogate thereof) should be every child's #1 hero -- and those of us who can claim that are truly blessed.

So tell me...how much money and volunteering did you put forward toward your candidate during the primaries?

Holy crap. I just finished. Obama was absolutely schooled. If the other two can look like this, Romney can win.
