Weber grill parts replacement ?
Time has come to replace my porcelain flavorizor bars and grates on my 9 year old Genesis gas grill. Just too much rust and holes forming on these parts.
Stainless is offered for almost 2X as much, but I would think it would last that much longer.
Any personal experience with the stainless replacements?
Worth the extra coin?
Thanks.

I went with the aftermarket SS bars on mine from Ebay. Just as good of build quality as the OEM Weber but much cheaper. The aftermarket SS is not much more than the Weber porcelain. It was a great value in my opinion.
Here is who I used.

Thanks Ray, but I have the Genesis B.
They have the SS parts at Acehardware, which is 2 mins away. And $10 cheaper than the Weber site.
I figure almost 10 yrs with porcelain, I should get 20 with SS.....not sure it sounds like such a deal now???

$70 and $65.
That's about twice as much as porcelain.

Not replacement, but I really like my Weber SS grill. Heat retention is not a concern as the flame is only a couple of inches away. Cleans great with a brush.

Call weber, tell them you have rusted bars and ask for a replacement. My Genesis B the would send me free replacements even at 10 years old.

I called them a couple weeks ago because I thought I needed a new valve. The lady I talked to was very nice and very helpful. She told me what to check and said call back if needed and they would get parts out to me right away. It ended up being pipe dope that was blocking one of the orifices.

On the charcoal side..I have had numerous Weber products...Very good customer service and lot's of replacement parts sent to me free...
When one customer service rep, when told what part's I needed, said " maybe it's time to get a new one "..My reply was " it would like getting rid of an old friend"...She had a tear in her eye...Sent me everything I needed..Free of charge..
Great customer service and they appreciate loyalty to their products..

I registered the grill when I bought it 8 yrs ago, so they know how long I've owned.
Thus, the nice lady I spoke to said the porcealin bars are 1 year warranty and grate is 2. I hinted around about no charge for replacement, but got a definite no.
I am now the proud owner of stainless steel grates and flavorizer bars from Acehardware as they were cheaper and no shipping fees.
I'm thinking ribs this weekend.
