If she took the lump sum.....nobody if she does not have a will! If she does, inheritance tax will eat up 45% of it. I'm sure they are standing in line at an attorney if she didn't.

I don't see this as an anomaly.
How many people that work hard all their lives to succeed and do drugs to excess and die. I suggest that for the majority of the people with earned wealth, their desire to succeed does not let them throw it all away for nothing. They recognize they have too much work and effort invested in it to throw it away. (Argument does not apply to "Movie Stars", they are a media creation, not success)
How many people that acquire/inherit "new found wealth", tend to not know how to handle it in moderation. I am not very surprised that a majority of "poor (people without excess money)" will destroy their lives with the sudden windfall of excess money. They have no practice in how to deal with it, rather see it as simply fulfilling all their desires at once.

seems to me that if the .gov wanted to end the war on drugs they should poison some of those large shipments of drugs they sieze and send them back out. Once junkies start dying by the thousands daily, the war cant last long
