Well, I guess I won't be voting this November.
No, not because I'm a dirty hippie.
I called the county I'd registered in to request an absentee voter ballot. All seemed well until I got a call this morning to inform me that apparently I'm not registered! I checked the registration form, and it's definitely the one I filled out a few months ago at the DMV, but of course I just missed the deadline to register (not that I'd have time for them to process that and then get an absentee ballot).
They told me I was still registered in another county (10+ years ago before moving out of the state, that was...), but that county informs me that they removed me from the list long ago.
Dangit! Man's trying to keep me down.
The good news is that my hippie co-worker has decided that he's not going to vote, so that evens things out.

Actually, today was the deadline. you could have registered until they closed or registered through the mail as long as it is post marked with today's date.
I had to re-register today because i own 2 Homes in the state and they sent my registration card to my other home and it cannot be forwarded. when they got it back, they cancelled my registration. I called and checked on it today and learned what had happened and registered online and then ran to the post office to mail the original and a copy of my license to them.

That bites. Reminds me of the only presidential election I have missed, when I voted absentee when I was in the Air Force. The post office in my home town returned almost all absentee ballots for some technicality and a bunch of service members missed voting that year. Want to bet which party the postmaster voted for?

Go ahead and vote! I mean others can do it without showing id or even being alive in some cases!

Think about the poor service men and women under this administration. A friend has a son over there. Said no one would vote BHO in now.

GO VOTE!!!!
You may have to do a provisional ballot and follow up on it with proof of residency (take several with you DL, utility bills, bank statement etc); but hell they let non residents vote with a provisional ballot!
