Well, it's a horizontal shoulder holster. It's almost always pointing at SOMETHING. At least his finger isn't on the trigger.

The holster has a retention strap OVER the hammer, and the weapon being pulled, has the hammer cocked.

Hammer is down and strap is over the hammer. I cary in that same rig. Hammer cocked, strap under the hammer.

It’s supposed to be a Horizontal Holster. As the guy draws the firearm from it, it appears to be a Vertical Holster.

The baby is obviously not theirs, no strollers or anything. Judging from the back alley they are in and the way the guy is pulling his gun I think they are selling the kid on the black market, or a trading it for drugs. Nobody brings their familly to some seedy, urine soked, back alley!

I can't speak for the Galco Shoulder holster but some Galcos-including one I own-is clearly designed for the retention strap to be used with the hammer down on a 1911. Mine works with the hammer cocked but the fit is better with it down.
