New Glocker with a 10mm G29
Hello Glock-Talk, i'm new here (obviously) and have entered the Glock world about 2 weeks ago with Glock 29, I paid 560$ for it, a bit much as i've been reading... but I've already picked up a Holster, a Lonewolf Extended Slide Release, a 15rnd G20 magazine, i'm pondering a Crimson Trace laser grip, since i have laser on my 9MM, but i'm holding off on that one for a bit until i can see the good and bad on here! You guys turned me on to Underwood Ammo, GREAT STUFF! And great to finally be able to post and looking forward to the idea swapping!

Congrats and welcome!
The CT laser is going to add more width to an already large grip!

i was just reading about that, my hands are a good bit larger than average, so the 29 fits me well now, i'm going to have to feel it up before i go for it I think.... found one for 175$ online though!

I'm carrying my G29SF on my walks now, the bears are waking up and are hungry.

Hello tyr0981, welcome to Glock Talk.
The Glock 29 10mm pistol is an amazingly versatile, multi-purpose pistol. Congratulations, you made a wise choice!
Have you thought about the Pearce +0 grip extension ( PG-29) for your 10-rd mags? We have them on all the 9-rd mags for the G30SF pistols in our household and for G29 mags I load when I shoot 10mm with the KKM conversion barrel. I like having a secure place to rest my pinky finger aligned with the pistol grip.

oh yeah i forgot about those! yes i got the Pearce "pinky grip" extender in the mail this evening, they feel great!
so does anyone out there have a LaserLyte (the rear sight replacement that's a laser) installed on their Glock? doesn't have to be a 10MM to tell if it's a decent product... just saw it online. Thanks for the input guys, i appreciate all the pointers i can get!

Welcome, and congrats, on a fine choice in the 29. FWIW, you can't get a new 29 in Ohio for the price of $560! Closer to $570, so you did good from where I stand. Enjoy the heck out of your fabulous choice!

I think you'll appreciate the good hold you can get on the G29 with the Pearce +0, especially if you're used to a full grip on your other pistol(s). If there is any pinching or discomfort with the top, front edge of the extension during firing, you can take down the edges with some fine grit sandpaper to make it comfortable.
Regarding the LaserLyte, take a look at the first ten posts in this excellent review and troubleshooting thread posted by GT member strakele:
LaserLyte RTB-GL rear sight laser review
He went through a lot of effort and aggravation to get it working reliably, but you have to admire his persistence and troubleshooting skill. Buyer beware.

I loved the Pearce extensions on my 29s, they sure helped my grip out.

Well i though a picture would be handy!
-Pierce grip extender
-Textured grip
-extended slide release
the 'Laserlyte' is in the mail today!
this is the first time I've used the textured grip, i have to wear an under shirt so it doesn't rub against my skin, very irritating when it does.... but it's a relatively minor change in my usual wardrobe.

thank you sir! man i knew the Glock community was large, but this is just amazing how many "clubs" their are....
So i think the last modification i'm seriously considering is a 'metal' (of some type) guide rod, it just makes sense considering how much recoil this caliber is dealing with, I've read mixed things about them though, anybody have good / bad things to say about them?

Watch it carefully. I have 2 Lasermax Unimax micro lasers, and they will not stay tight on my 20SF or 29SF. They are now on the 9mms.

I put the same extension on my G30. But for my G29 I put the +2 extension. 12 rounds of 10mm beats 10 ant day. And it feeds perfect.

I use tungsten guide rods in mine, they work great. You can get steel which is a little lighter and works well also.

Well the LaserLyte perfomed as well as could be expected (in full daylight) nothing fell off... after 100rnd of Underwood 200Grain, and it didn't come out of adjustment at all, i aimed it last night (using the sights and my best guesses) and it was and still is dead on @ 10 yards. (couldn't see the dot beyond that in daylight), so far so good!
i ordered a Steel GUIDE ROD SET & SPRINGS 19LB from GUNSPRINGS.COM, and am pretty sure it's needed because the slide is DEFIANTLY coming all the way back with the 200 grain bullets, Underwood Ammo makes those things strong man!
