The hose needs the lube.

You're into some wierd **** aren't you?

OP - I'm another member of the "you're brother is an a-hole" camp.

When me and wife first moved into our new home (We closed on it one year and one day ago!) We had probelms with our dogs barking at the new neighbors. We thought this was just because it was new and they would resume their non-barking ways after a couple of days.

They didn't quit, so we went over to the neighbors and let them know we were sorry, we were working on it, and exchanged numbers so in case the dogs were ever barking and we couldn't hear them we could get them to shut it.

It took about a month but we finally got them under control and now they only bark when the neighbors cat sits on top of our fence and stairs down at them.

tl:dr- Tell your bro to shut his damn dog up and he'll probably have a good relationship with his neighbor.

Good fences make good neighbors.

Your brother should definitely work on getting that dog under control. I do think that's kind of hard to do if his neighbor is hosing the dog down though. So a six-foot privacy fence may be something to think about....

PS, to answer the question "what would I have done" if the guy had hosed me down...well, I'd probably steal his wi-fi for a while.

Do you see why some here could infer that your brother has a dog that is a nuisance?

The neighbor definitely stepped over the line by hosing your brother. However, I still can't make the connection to your brother yelling at the neighbor for cussing while ignoring his own barking dog that is creating the whole mess to begin with.

Your brother needs to control his dog.

I suppose the neighbor could just call the police to settle the matter but you really don't want to go down that road if it can be helped.

No doubt. IMO, People who let their dogs bark to the point that they bother the neighbors deserve to be hosed down; with Napalm. Your brother didnt' get near what he deserved.

Noise is noise to me. Cussing is just as annoying as a barking dog.

Your Brother should keep his dog quite and he won't get the hose again.

I'd smack him across the muzzle with a rolled magazine then figure out what to do about the dog.

After the neighbor goes to bed, turn on his hose every night. Then turn it off before he wakes in the morning and jack up his water bill.

j/k

In all seriousness, your brother should train the dog not to bark constantly. The neighbor though did not have any right to hose the dog or your brother.

Good luck.

Having dealt with noisy dogs before I can totally sympathize with the neighbor. Your brother is wrong but did the correct thing. He is wrong for not addressing an issue with HIS dog. Now on the other hand... we don't have ALL the details. Has the neighbor or anyone else tried to address the issue with your brothers dog and it's barking?

If the answer is yes... then it's on your bro man! If the answer is no, then your bro needs to be proactive and engage the neighbor to assess the true complaint. Then based on that address is.

Noone else has said a word to him. He heard let the dog out this morning and it barked twice..... The neighbors wife was out there with a camera. It literally barked twice before it was let in he said. My bro said there's been other run ins with this neighbor about other issues also. It's sounding like they are nit-picking now.

If he is the type for an immaculate yard, I would apply gibberellic acid to his yard or just select parts.

Get one of those .99 squirt guns.
Ring the neighbor's doorbell.
When he answers...double tap to the forehead.

Leave the gun.
Take the canoli.

I have neighbors who have the lovely "invisible fence" run right to the sidewalk. They get a kick out of letting their dogs out when people walking baby carriages or dogs walk by who then jump for their lives when they see the dog running towards them. Some let their dogs out barking all night long. In the end, the annoying dog's owner is to blame, not the dog. Some people can tolerate the barking, some can't.

I'd figure out a way to shut the dog up but not before turning on my hose and giving the neighbor a taste of his own medicine.
