Well, if you open your opinion piece announcing to the world you cannot research your topic, the rest is not really worth reading.
The gun manufacturers have their own association, that's true. Unfortunately for you it's the NSSF:

The NRA is the gun owner's union. You know what a union is, right?

Noun The action or fact of joining together or being joined together, esp. in a political context.
When over 4 million gun owners get together they form a union called the NRA to get their voice heard in Congress. It's a shame you didn't even spend enough time to figure that out before announcing your ignorance to the world.
