My watch is a Timex Weekender. It cost about $50.00. It's just an old school analog watch with no fancy functions except telling the time.
The reason I bought a Timex is that I like the Indiglo watch light feature, and that is proprietary to Timex watches.
This is what it looks like:
And I have had favorable comments from the ladies about my choice of watch.

And yes, I do own less expensive watches, and they are just as enjoyable. Chicks may not dig it as much, but I still dig it.

Lots of nice watches in the replies.
I wear an old soviet vostok. Looks like this but has a steel band and a different bezel.

I would love to do it for you! Let me know how wide and long it needs to be. I'll see what I can find (we may be stuck to having to do it in a smaller size (narrow) ring but I'll see what I can find. Also the metal (brass, bronze, copper or aluminum unless you want something anodized into different colors).
That weave kicked my ass. I finally got the idea to use the three colors (brass, bronze and aluminum) as it has three different ring orientations in the weave and whatttaya know? After about 20 inches of that and not having to go back and unweave a single ring, it sank in!!!
Now I really, really want to do me in one in rainbow niobium to go with a monster Swarovski heart I have...

Top right is the one I did the most, but I find more than a man's wallet to be interesting.

I'm still trying to come up with a use for a camo mail band, but I only have one watch and I don't think it would work with it.

Keep pondering it. You'll figure something out. There's always bracelets, too.
I have a focal bead I got 5 years ago that I am still waiting for inspiration on. I knew if I didn't grab the bead when I saw it, I'd never get another chance (one-of done by an artist who did the beads as her way to unwind after work).
Some day I will get around to doing maille curtains in our living room on this side of the miniblind. I fell in love with that idea when I saw them in an article.

Great! Let's talk by email, because the design I want is a bit complicated. It's going to need 4 'strands' connected to a leather shoulder strap on one end, connecting to the purse on the other end. For the hardware, I'll want gold plate to match the rest of the purse.
Here's a link to a purse just like the one I want to use it on.

The only time I did use a watch was when I managed a sporting goods store about 7 years ago. A Nike rep came in and gave me one of their new digital watches for free as a selling tool to deal with customers who were interested in their watches. Wore it for about 3 years and then when I quit the job, I quit wearing a watch. Now I just use the clock on my cell phone.

Baby G FTW
A well-traumatized, old "Baby G" in clear grey with pink highlights!!
Good thing it says it is "shock resistant" because I have definitely tested that.

I’m somewhat of a watchaholic, but I quit wearing nice ones a couple years ago. Never owned a rolex & never really wanted one; but a couple seamasters (one the blue dive version, one a gold dress version), a tag, wittnauers, & such.
A couple years ago, within the space of probably two or three months, I had two customers (well, potential customers) comment on my watch and the money that alarm guys must be making, and after that was never able to close a deal with either of them. To some degree, my watch was responsible for those lost sales. Or more accurately, their ignorant, bitter, emotional reaction to my watch was responsible for those lost sales. It’s stupid, it’s petty, but it’s a fact of life; and when it comes to sales, like the man said “you can feed your ego or you can feed your family”. So I ditched the expensive-looking watches and now stick with tool watches instead. Fact is, some of them are as expensive as the tag and even the lower-end omega, but they’re not ones that the hillbillies I deal with recognize. My most-worn ones are Prometheus and Traser, but I’m not really faithful to any of them. This weekend it was a Seiko sbcm023, and today it happens to be a citizen 300m eco-drive. (Fact is, if either one of those had tritium, they’d be about perfect functionally imo.) One of these days, I’ll likely pick up a Ball; since it has tritium, has the mechanical movement I prefer, and isn’t one that most simpletons will immediately recognize.
My only sentimental-value watch is an old gold mechanical Benrus that I got from my dad. He got it from his mother for his 25th birthday, and he gave it to me when he was 84. I had it sent off and cleaned & refurbished, and gave it back to him for his 85th birthday. When he sold his house and moved into a senior apartment complex a couple years ago, he gave it back to me again, along with a refurbished 1943 M1 carbine I’d given him, since that was his favorite rifle when he was in ww2.
That benrus lives in its gold-and-felt box and is only taken out for special occasions. Fact is, it’s not one I’d pick out for myself (it’s kind of small, and I’m not a big gold wearer), but I’m seriously hoping to give it to one of my sons someday. How cool would that be – having the watch that your great-grandmother gave your grandfather for his 25th birthday a century or so ago…?

That’s the same model I quit wearing several years ago. Loved it, but it’s pretty enough that bitter poor people reacted negatively to me when wearing it.

I feel your pain. My clients sometimes remarked on my fancy watches, but I know that they do it facetiously because they all make assloads more money than me.

Yeah, but the upside to my situation is that I get to live in hillbillyville instead of yuppieville. So I shouldn't complain - there's definitely a major upside here...

I have a 23 year old stainless steel Rolex Datejust that my dad gave me.

I also have a 2 tone Movado I wear when my Rolex goes in for its yearly service.

Until they come out with a watch that can shoot lasers like James Bond's, and look just as good, I'll stick to my self setting G shock.

I used a Casio that I bought at Wal-Mart. It is a sports watch and keeps perfect time. It is not a dress watch, but it serves my needs.
