Yep. Life is way too short to sit there and admire a gun in the safe or a car in the garage.

I agree 100%. No safe queen or garage queen here.

I actually find pleasure in admiring some guns and pleasure in shooting others. I don't own any typical semi-customs that I don't shoot, but I do own several collectible 1911s and other handguns that I take pride in not shooting.
Everyone is different, I guess.

Who gives a **** if someone does not care to shoot a pistol?
What's the point in bustin their balls? They may be saving it
for a child, family member or a museum.

I never understood it either, Greg.
People collect all sorts of things that just sit around. Why does every gun have to be shot. Believe me, I shoot probably over 90% of what I own, but I have a few pieces that don't and probably never will see the range.
I'm not talking your run of the mill semi custom, I'm talking items that you can't really find that I bought unfired.

You are one of many private collectors. I applaud you & others
for preserving these rare firearms.

Thanks Greg
Like I said, its not many that I don't shoot. I'd say less than a 10th of my collection.

When I started this thread I wasn't really talking about not shooting a gun because it's a collector. There's nothing wrong with keeping collectors. If I had some of the guns that some here have (bac1023) I'd never shoot them. I have a Ruger No 1, 7X57, International that's never been fired. I also have a Colt .38 Super unfired. Neither are collectors but are the only guns I own that have not been fired. Both were my grandfathers and he never shot them. I suspect my Dad and I will shoot them one day but we're waiting for a good time when we're together. Until then I have no problem with these two sitting in the safe.
What I was asking originally was how many of you buy something like a semi-custom 1911, planing on shooting the crap out of it, but then never really shoot it very much for one reason or another? For me personally I hate having this No Name sitting there! I wish I could shoot it everyday. There's all ways a reason why I can't get out to shoot it. I'm going to have to fix that!
