Hello All
Had the pleasure of shooting pistols for the first time this weekend and my favorite so far was the Glock 19.
Looking forward to reading and learning more.

Got your permit yet? I don't know how easy or hard that is down there.
Everyone likes the 19.

No, not yet. I had my interview with local PD in April.
Over here it's about 6 months from the interview date before you receive your license. So... hopefully within the next few weeks it'll be in my hands.

Good, hopefully you will get it soon.
And in case you don't know already, only way you can shoot handguns in NYS before the permit is with an NRA instructor (and a couple other instructor types specified in the laws), or you can try one out of state, so we'll assume either of thosr was the opportunity you had
I mention that just to be helpful But I am not a lawyer.
Me, personally, I think the Constitution is all the permit we need. Just want to keep all us NYS pistol owners and enthusiasts on the good side of the law.

Oh, I'm more than familiar with the absurd NYS handgun restrictions.
I was in North Carolina when I shot the Glock. Didn't need any license, other than the one I use to operate my car.
