I was asked by a customer if the Gen 4 recoil spring would work in a Gen 3. I did not see why not but wanted to see what others think.

Nope. The quick answer would be front of slide on a Gen3 isn't made to fit a Gen4 OEM RSA.

However, there are exceptions, the G26 RSA (0-8-1) for example will fit both Gen3 and Gen4 models. Best way to figure, if the RSA in a Gen3 is dual, it will also function with same model Gen4 RSA, to the best of my knowledge.
