Any feedback on Fusion 1911 kits?

I'm considering putting together a 1911; has anyone here done so with the Fusion 1911 kit and/or components?

I have not built a whole gun from thier parts but I have used thier parts on a couple guns and have been very satisfied with them. No problems, infact if you want something just a little diffrent calll them and they can usually fix you right up. Nothing but good experiances with them.

Piss poor quality machining. Piss poor customer service.
There are better parts kits for the money & much better companies.

I'm not a big Fusion fan, though mine has been fine. Today, they're WAY overpriced for what you get.

The kits are better than the completed gun.

What are the suggestions for other sources of build kits?

Call up Remsport. You'll be happy with what John can put together for you.

BTW, Fusion doesn't make any of their own parts. All are contracted from others.

Here's an example of a 1911 that I had built from a Remsport kit.

Good point,.....other than te Hunter kit I had that was machined with a rock,
most of my opinon comes from Fusion Firearms assembled pistols.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll check in with Remsport tomorrow

What's interesting is that the wife wants me to take on this project
She's actually suggested I use Les Baer components

I would use a Wilson frame/slide/fitted barrel.

Good suggestion; I am definitely leaning towards using premium bits to build the beast

Start with quality, have a quality product.

Stay away from Fusion. (Yeah, yeah,....big surprise.)

Not trying to slam the product, i've just learned by my experience
and those of trusted friends that Fusion is not worth my time.
I would rather start with a Remsport, Caspian or a Wilson.

I know two people, who against good advice, bought new Fusion 1911's and both are having a myriad of problems due to bad machining & bad assembly.

FWIW, who makes the Fusion Commander frame with the extended dust cover, Remsport or STI? Very cool looking.

I stumbled across a deal on a s/s Colt Gold Cup Trophy this weekend - ready to shoot, no need to "build" anything. We're good to go.

(that being said, I have my eyes on a Les Baer s/s frame & slide set....)
