Is there a reason for the serrations on top of the slide?

Looks like something that company did for the Glocks (as seen on Top Shooter). Wholesale lightening of the slides, wild serrations.

My already uncertain opinion of him plummeted as soon as he started his "Ludus". Give me a ****ing break.

Yeah, I thought that whole Ludus thing was kind of cheesy. Hmmmm, ludus, where the Romans trained fighters who fought to the death in an arena for the amusement of a decadent society in decline.

There are a couple of lesser known meanings, but yeah, that's the one he was going for.

Well, thats one way of looking at it.

the other would be, that the Ludus, was where the premier one on one fighters of the world learned/trained/practiced their art.

Does it really help the performance of the pistol, to take that much material out of the slide?

True, but for the most part they were essentially slaves, and they were frequently pimped out to whichever wealthy Romans paid to have sex with them.

I realize I'm reading way to deeply into this whole thing, but on the other hand I find that a lot of people like to romanticize certain historical figures, eras, and events without looking into the actual facts.

What's wrong with a little "romanticizing"?

What you are not getting, is these gladiators, the good ones, were heroes to many admirers......then, and now. Yes, they were slaves, but many of them lived a life they enjoyed.......many women, luxury, great food, fame, leisure....the best in life was provided for them. They had everything they would otherwise have had if they had been wealthy......except their freedom. I'll bet quite a few of them wouldn't have traded what they had, for the chance to walk away from it all!

So you agree that it's a stupid name for a business?

Somehow, I think Chris was going for the hard fight training meaning rather than the pimping for sex part...

Then again......

Nevermind..

Only those professionally trained at Costa Ludus would know what the top serrations are for.

Like I said, the issue I see with romanticizing is that most people don't realize all the facts when they do it.

While I'm sure there were a lot of perks for the gladiators, at the end of the day they were killing and dying for the amusement of the mob. Basically they were the ancient equivalent of today's reality tv.

Anyways, as previously stated, I realize that I read way too much into this. I guess whenever I see people that try to be a little too hardcore,in my opinion, I can't help but poke a little fun.
