EMP ?! Would these bags do anything?

I really don't know much about this, and don't have a EMP generator/solar flare to test them on.
If he knows what is good for him, he best go run and hide. Daddy’s got a new 45

Hard to say, and hard to actually test. Faraday cages are not necessarily difficult to rig up yourself, but these TechProtect Bags may do the trick for you.

EMP can come in a wide range of "flavors." From a practical standpoint, the EMP events that preppers are leery of are mostly theoretical, since we haven't experienced them in our lifetime.

What is known about what could happen in any given solar or radiological EMP largely resides within military circles. FWIW, I've been watching debates online about EMP threats for many years. There is no consensus about these things.

If it concerns you, a product like these bags may be helpful. One thing to think about ... even if you manage to protect some electronic device or appliance, it may very well be that it still won't function unless the grid or networks are themselves working. So beyond protecting devices--you'll want to also be thinking about protecting alternative power sources so that at the very least you can power or recharge your device.
