Elderly woman paid attention and thwarted robbery attempt

http://www.detroitnews.com/article/2...text|FRONTPAGE

Some thugs selected a woman at a market, followed her out. Eventually rear ended her, pretending to get out to exchange information as a ruse.

Elderly woman exited the car with her pistol in hand concealed by her leg, recognized the guys from the market, and the rest is history..

Great job of situational awareness. Glad the police took her side, as there wasn't any overt threat to go by, just the fact she recognized them from the market. Some places may have put her in hot water for brandishing, or worse.

Perhaps those two will seek a less dangerous profession.

Unfortunately, the odds are better they'll continue their ways and kill someone less vigilant next time.

Great job to the woman. Hope the thieves get caught, but I'd guess unless they got some good info from surveillance cameras at the market, that's pretty unlikely.

Way to be aware of your surroundings.

Obviously this woman is not a GNG poster, otherwise she'd have known the police would without a doubt and unequivocally have arrest her.

Only after she asked like 300x "Am I being detained?" and questioning whether the police had "probably cause" to detain her.
