Considering Polygraphs are bunk, I should think it would be extremely simple.

You could probably even just let your brain glaze over and still pass.

Or is that just how to pass the polygraph test itself...

Shoot.

Polygraph school?

Go to YouTube and search for "The Wire - Season Five Opening Scene".

Congrats, here's your degree, you've graduated polygraph school!

(I'd link the video directly, but there is foul language)

I've been told that it's a long and challenging school...like 12 weeks long. You probably won't get many quality responses though, just a bunch of guys complaining about the polygraph being junk science.

Nah. I'd never call it "junk science". Junk? Sure. Science? Never.

Last I recall, candidates to reputable schools have to have an undergraduate degree in certain social sciences or physical sciences.

It isn't a typical POST 'attendance guarantees certification' school.

So they now consider a polygraph science now? So what is a ouija board?
I have taken ONE poly. From a trained/certified tester. He ALMOST got me convinced it worked. Soon it was clear it told him nothing. He said once I figured out it was bunk it wouldn't work.
Basicily its to scare folks into telling truth. Toss in some good guesses, reading people and it can look good. Unless pay is great I would look into tea leaves above this.

I was once told that I was not being truthful about my name. So, I guess I'm not really me????

I really wish people were not this stupid. But I am afraid it is probably true.

See also "The Wire-Polygraph"

That confirmed a few things I noticed about everyone's stories from our polygrph experiences. Almost every single person we have hired has either been untruthful of inconculsive on at least one answer. Hmmmm.

Not to mention Alrich Ames passed his polys with flying colors when he was being investigated by the CIA. They even went looking for other suspects when it was him all the time.

I would go to school if I was going to be be put on permanent light duty or being pensioned out. That way I could set up shop somewhere and do polygraphs in this area as a side gig. Just because I don't beleive it is 100% doesn't mean I can't make money off of it.

This.

A poly is a good tool to trick a criminal into a confession (and that's fine with me), but passing or failing a poly is of little if any value. They are inadmissible for a reason.

If I were a suspect, I would never take a poly. That is even more foolish than talking to the detectives/investigators.

Sorry, but the idea that innocent people want to talk to the cops may be generally true, but even if you are innocent, it is best to lawyer up and shut your mouth.

My lawyer, who has helped me with strictly civil matters, also does criminal work. He told me that if I ever made a statement without consulting with him, he would refuse to represent me.

As the USSCt has said, the right to remain silent exists to protect the innocent, even though it frequently protects the guilty.
