Cabela's Mossberg Home Defense/Field Combo

What do you guys think of that? Looks pretty cool I think. It's costs $439 and I could use the field barrel.

Reminds me of the thunder ranch version:

I think I prefer the Thunder Ranch though, and I could just buy a 28" barrel later.

Any of that would be fine for what you're looking to do. I'm not a fan of that "breech" type barrel on either of those, but if you like it, go for it.

I prefer something more along these lines:

Either way you go, as long as you're getting a Mossberg 500 or 590 you're doing well. Oh, and welcome to the forum. Enjoy!

After it took 2 and a half hours to buy an M9 from them one night, I won't buy guns there on principle.

They charge too much for new and used firearms. Ammo prices are ridiculous. And they now make you do all the FFL stuff on computer, which takes more time.

No thanks.

Which one? the Thunder Ranch or the Cabelas combo? Do tell. I would get either in a heartbeat for that price. Where, how?

I didn't buy my Mossberg 500 Field/Security Combo from Cabelas as there isn't one in my area but bought it lightly used from a gun shop. It's probably an older one and has some scratches on the receiver. I was wanting a field gun for sporting and hunting use and this was perfect for me and purchased it for 250.

I sure wouldn't pay that. I saw a Winchester 1300 combo in a gun shop the other day for like $250.

That's a good deal. That combo is going for $360 in my area new. I'm going to get the thunder ranch, it's got the stock and forend I like and it comes with a sling. I'll just pick up a 28" barrel so I can shoot trap with it.
