Thought I was getting LE6920 ended up with this!

Yep. That would be a LE6920 so you got the gun you thought you were getting.
I have the same rifle but in the Magpul edition. But all of the recent LE6920's have the M4 rollmark.

I do not know what he paid. I got one in Oct. at Walmart for $1087. Monday Walmart had a magpul 6920 for $1167 and a few others two days later they were all gone. I was thinking about getting it but did not.

I bought a LE6920 just a few days ago on GB, and paid a stupid amount for it. I'm not proud of it, but I was in a bit of a panic.

Funny thing is the way those are marked they are CA legal with a fixed 10 round mag. A few years ago when the rollmarks were different they were not legal at all unless you had them before the ban.
You were all laughing at CA not too long ago.

I watched her on CSPAN today. She wants to classify assault weapons very close to the same as Class III weapons.
Is that how it works in California?

Not gonna happen, and it's only going to get worse for those of you in CA anyway. They'll simply outlaw any gun that is capable of receiving a magazine, not just the detachable ones. You'll be stuck with top loading everything .
But, like the Bullet Button and Radlock, necessity will be the mother of invention, and you boys and girls will take a few years to figure out a way to bypass it, all the while, shaking in your boots as to whether it's going to fly legally. 
There was a time when I lived there that I actually thought there was a chance of sanity, but then I woke up from the delusion I was seeing and GTFO there.

I get the feeling the majority of the people rushing the stores have no experience with anything other than hunting or plinking guns. There are lots of people that feel the need now to get an "assault rifle" and probably have no idea what one really costs or just want one bad enough they will pay the price.
