SCORE ! Blued 1976 Series 70 Government

Thanks Harold. Your dads gun has gone to a good home.

Brought it home and carefully disassembled each part, cleaned with Hoppes and gave a good wipe down with Weaponshield. She is pristine, just like advertised. This gives me an original mfg. Series 70 and a 2011 Series 70 to go with my small collection of Colts.

Anyone thinking of doing business with Harold Mayo, he's a good guy. Thanks again !

a hearty "congratulations", and a dose of envy. My first centerfire pistol was a 1976 series 70, brand new.

Say what? it is identical to the '76 I had. I purchased it new during the 76-77 Xmas break.

Thanks guys. She's a sweety. I almost can't bring myself to shoot it.

Sorry Jim. It's all original. Check production models during that time frame.

I really like the NRM on the gun too. The smaller letters are really elegant. Anyone else have some Series 70's you'd like to show off ? Love me some ole slabsides.

Good find indeed!!! I scored a well used but still functional 1974 a couple of months back. Yeah, the trigger is factory.

That gun had some use. I like the looks of a gun that's been used but not abused. How is the accuracy with the collet bushing ?

That's how they are supposed to look.

Very nice. I've got a '76 large-letter shooter. Your trigger looks the same as mine.

That gun is very well used and I got it for $400.

There must be something in the water (or collet bushing), but it groups well with the GI style sights.

Good base for a custom piece.
All I use are vintage 70's when I'm coming up with a project pistol.
