Glock Asian Military Mags?

I was at a gun show today and someone had Glock Mags labeled as "Glock Asian Military" ??

There were metal, drop free, hi-cap @ $23/each any caliber.

What the heck are they? Will they work well?

He also had standard capacity factory Glock Mags at $23 as well. Again, any caliber for any Glock same price.

Do these prices sound good? Anything I should look for when I go back in the morning?

That price is way to high. They are made in Korea and make OK range mags, spend $23 on original Glock mags.

THEY SUCK!. i bought 5 of them. Every single one had feed issues, and not feeding into the gun i mind you, feeding themselves higher in the mag. I would fully load them, strip one off, tip it upsidedown and they would just pour out like jellybeans. RUN AWAY!

Especially for $23. i paid $15 each for mine

They can be had here http://www.cdnninvestments.com/gl199mm15nom.html much cheaper. As others have said, they maybe ok for the range but my thought is all around you are money ahead with Glock factory magazines. SJ 40

Hi-cap for you is standard capacity. Standard capacity for you is 10 rounders?

You sure these Asian mags were metal?

$23 must be the "gun show, deal of the day" price.

As was mentioned, they can be had for $10 or less at places like CDNN, Wideners, etc.

I have a bunch of them, but unlike some of the other posters, mine have been 100%, and at this point, I wouldnt have any problem using them for carry either.

Hi-cap I mean > 10 rounds; Std Cap = 10 rds

They where in fact metal. I picked them up and held them. They where at a local gun show that is happening this weekend. Never heard of "Asian" Glock anything which is why I asked

I had no idea, thus, I asked. I may pick up one or two at the website link listed to see how they go as range mags.

Interesting, but I would not use a metal mag in a GLOCK. The Asian mags I've seen and used have been copies of the GLOCK mag with plastic over metal liners. The KCI brand of Korean mags are usually very cheap as in less than $10 and work very well for range mags.

Khan is another brand similar to KCI, but not as good quality.

10 rounds isn't standard capacity, it's neutered/low capacity.

I have 4 of these mags, got them for 6 bucks each from CDNN about a year ago. They've been pretty good, for range use, but not 100%. If you're going to spend 23 bucks on a mag, you can get OEM Glock mags from CDNN for that price. If I were to do it over again I wouldn't buy the Asian mags. Just my 0.02

I didn't know, so I asked. This is a great community and I got the answers I needed.

I found "Asian" mags at another vendor table and for $6 they are worth a try. I know the vendor and he said if they don't work, bring them back.

I found some OEM Glock mags for $19

Thank you everyone for the replies

Reviving an old thread, because it is becoming relevant again.

Factory mags are settling around $50; Korean mags are 19 at the recent gun show in Tucson.

My question: Are the asian mags known as GROCK mags?

Oh, and do they work?

Standard capacity for normal people, i.e. 17 rds for a 17, 13 rds for a 23... or standard as in gun grabber magic number 10 round capacity?

Those Korean mags were 8 dollars a piece in ealy December.

While I would under normal circumstances recommend Glock factory magazines,at this point some even if Korean is better than none.
Normally the two downfalls of the Korean magazines are are moulding flash and poor spring quality.
Cleaning up the excess flash can be done with a Exacto or sharp knife, some times a fine file 6 to 8 inches will also come in handy.
Replacing the springs with either factory or Wolff springs up until three weeks ago wouldn't have been a problem, that may not be true at the moment.
Some say they use the springs they come with and have no problems,I have found different for what I consider 100% function.Just my take on the few I have bought and use. SJ 40

I always prefer standard capacity(# of rounds gun was designed to hold, G19=15rds)factory magazines and will use ONLY Glock OEM magazines for carry and home defense. And for many years I did all my training with them also as I always had the ability to repair/replace/add to stock any day of the week at my choice of vendor, local or online. Those times are gone, at least for now.

A couple years ago I opened an email advertising KCI Glock magazines for $9.99, free shipping. I ordered 2 just check them out for myself- I could only be out $20 if they were garbage- and had them 5 days later. They functioned flawlessly through 200 rounds. I ended up buying 8 more right away. Of those 8, 6 have been perfect as well, the other 2 needed a couple touches of the Dremel to get to drop free when empty. My Korean magazines are fine for training.

The way things are now- with all retailers being sold out/backordered and uncertain times ahead- I will continue to leave my factory mags to "official duty" and use my KCI for "unofficial" training needs. I must continue to perform 100% realistic reloads. I can't hesitate to let them drop free to the concrete/gravel/mud. With OEM mags selling for double or triple what they were a few weeks ago, I'm going to avoid damaging them where possible. If you get a bad Korean mag that you're unable to reliably repair(I've read that they do exist), do not use it. The KCIs that function properly might be the thing that allows your factory mags to continue to serve "official duty" for many years.

I just got a certificate for a 2-Day Defensive Handgun class at Firearms Academy of Seattle for Christmas. It will be a difficult choice deciding what magazines I'll run that weekend.
