What is it with the white dots falling out of M&P sights?!

My M&P 45c's front sight white dot fell out a few months after I got it. S&W replaced it when it went back for another reason.

Now my new (month old) M&P 9c's left rear white dot has fallen out.

^&#$%$%#

I hope they can just send me a new rear sight. I'll fix it myself. On second thought, might be a good opportunity to try a new sight altogether. Recommendations?

Here ya go...

I just wish they'd start offering different colored front and rear lamps in the night sights.

Edit: I almost forgot, Warren Tactical now offers their sights to fit the M&P. I don't know if they are doing the Sevigny Carry night sights for them yet, though. Those sights are one of the few things I really miss about the Glock 32 I got rid of.

It's enamel paint. Go get you a small bottle of Testors white enamel hobby paint and a round toothpick. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Most manufacturers use cheap sights on production guns.
Buy a quality set of sights.

Honestly, if your going to CC the M&P9c, get the XS big dot sights. I think they are perfect for a carry gun.

Otherwise, get some model car paint, hit up the sights in whatever color you want and be done with it.

It happened to mine on the first magazine fired through it. A white paint pen from Walmart fixed it, and 3500 malfunction free rounds later it is still there.

Don't sweat the small stuff, just get some white paint and fix it yourself. Not a big deal.

This happened to me also when I got my M&P9c. I went to the hobby store and bought a white paint pen. Worked like a charm!

+1. This is what I'm going for on my next pistol.

I had a M&P40 with the factory sights and never had a problem. Maybe the quality has dropped since I had mine.

Open carry would have solved this problem. Concealed carry causes too much fabric rubbing on the nail polish they use for paint.

And I like my plastic sights!

I've seen 25 year old plastic sights that still have the white on them.
Some of the S&W models lose their's in the first range trip.
Unacceptable!

Sorry but I have a Gen 4 19. I can easily fix a missing white dot. But I CAN'T fix brass to my head, and neither can Glock.

I had the same thing happen on a Ruger P95. I just got a little bottle of white model paint and filled in the dot recess. Problem solved.
