Sikh Shooting - Same Gun Shop
Good evening,
This being my first thread on this forum, I thought it was appropriate seeing that Wade Page, the Sikh shooter, purchased his firearm at the range I go to.
He picked up his 9mm on July 31st, the day I was last at the range.
Anyone else have something odd such as this happen to them? I live less than 15 minutes away from the site of the shooting.

Just a coincidence. I think you're just making something out of nothing, really.
And, I'm not sure what you mean by "appropriate".

How could this be in any way, shape or form appropriate?
A nutjob murdered innocent people and you think it is a neat coincidence that you shared space at one time?

This is the best you can do for a first thread? His victims are barely cold.

Reports are that he was dishonorably discharged, which should have disqualified him from owning a gun. Sounds like the government screening process failed. Let's have more government screening processes to make it harder for people to buy guns, since the ones in place now don't work!
Typical government response.

He had an other than honorable discharge. That's different than a dishonorable discharge, right?

I believe you are right, it was OTH. In that case, depending on the state he could indeed buy a gun legally.

Don't quite follow 'appropriate'.
Coincidence, maybe. Especially since he picked up a firearm the same day you were there.
Same type of coincidence. . . . . I work a couple of blocks from the address where the inhabitant resides, that's ruining my country.
Oh. . . . that address is 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Washington, DC.
Same-same???

Hello, welcome. I live in the area also.. I have been to that shop a few times but don't have anything good to say about that place. I avoid it now a days.
Life is full of weird coincidences.. this one is not really that weird compared to some.

I would have to ask one of the vets here to set that straight.
The only mention I see of him having a dishonorable discharge says that a source in the Pentagon told CNN that he was dishonorably discharged... but I can't find that one CNN's site.

Honorable
General
Other than honorable
Bad conduct
Dishonorable
These are the only discharges I have heard of. Luckily, I can only confirm the existence of the Honorable Discharge. Its on my DD214.

Hey guys,
I definitely did not mean 'appropriate' in that way. I meant I felt that the coincidence was noteworthy enough for me to make a thread(in my opinion). I in no way thought Wade Page's disgusting actions were 'appropriate'.
Thanks for the greetings though, love reading what you guys have to say!

Welcome to GT.
I'm not one for coincidences really. I would tell stories all day if I were.

By the way, it now seems that he shot himself in the head after being hit in the stomach by the LEO's rifle.
