You're probably right. Mingo will flop. A genetic freak with a football instinct you can't teach.

Watched Mingo play through his college career, he won't be a flop in the NFL. Roll Tide

Ouch.

That is some talent leaving....but their recruiting will fill those holes. Miles is not a bad recruiter.

I think we're going to have a rebuilding year in 2013 after this. No title hunt next year.

Isn't it funny how it may be a rebuilding year (I'm not so sure it is a rebuilding year, there is still a lot of depth there) but how many schools would take a LSU 'rebuilding year' as their peak year.

Well, losing a pile of seniors is one thing but these are early departures. I have to think that causes a wrinkle
This is top level stuff and I'm sure Miles and his peers at other top programs manage this pipeline very seriously as part of the business. No doubt some of these were anticipated but I have to think the number is getting a little out of hand.
We'll see. LSU lost Mathieu somewhat unexpectedly and had to shuffle bodies early due to injuries and whatnot this year and still managed a good but somewhat disappointing season.
And if history is any guide some of these idiots will get themselves in trouble between now and next September.

I know what you mean.....I actually thought this year was going to be a rebuilding year with the Tide, especially on defense...we lost several key players and some depth. But the back ups stepped up.
IIRC, we are not losing that much this year. If my preliminary research was correct, the Tide will loose several key players and seniors at the end of the 2013 season (Quarterback is one of the big ones.).

Yeah, its funny. Going into the 2011 season the buzz on the tigers was that they would be a good team but 2012 was supposed to be the year they raised the crystal again. 2011 was obviously a very young team and arguably on of the top 3 toughest schedules in the country, yet they ran the table. This year they were supposed to dominate and we thought Bama was going to be in more of a rebuilding year. Strange how things shake out.
Saban and the Tide are due for a downish year but I'm not banking on it. He's the best in the business and arguably the hardest working guy in the game. His stable is full.

Every school cycles through one of those downturns....hopefully LSU not Bama have a long downturn. I don't see the Tigers having much of a downturn next year.
Like I said above, unless something changes, the 2014 season could be rough for the Tide....new quarterback, several offensive/defensive players graduating etc. I'm by no means predicting the Tide will run the tables next year (I'm hopeful, but realistic too) but 2013 looks to have better chances than 2014, for us.
So my caveat is, anything can happen!!

Notre Dame defense is definitely playing on a different level.

The officiating certainly is interesting so far.

Out of bounds/bobbled catch - -eh- you could argue either way.
Interfering with kick reception - good call
Fumble after catch - needs overturned, he was down.

I know there's a lot of football left to play , but ND better wake up before it gets too far out of reach .

Well, one thing is glaringly obvious again.....we need to leave the national championship game for two SEC teams to play.

I'll believe it after the 3d quarter and we see if AL takes the quarter off.

Yeah, I think its pretty apparent that Notre Dame hasn't seen anything remotely like a top SEC team this year.

ND is getting abused. Hey, at least I don't need to stay up late to know the outcome.

The BCS needs to quit doing this to non-SEC teams. It must be humiliating. These are kids with their friends and family watching. Its cruel and unsportsmanlike.
