That's just like mine. I bought mine at a little General
Store in East TN in 1964. It's had I don't know how many
thousands of rounds thru it and still runs like a swiss
watch. Eats any ammo you put in it and has never
hicupped. Spent 2 weeks at the bottom af Obed River
when the Game Warden caught me on the wrong side
of the river and I jumped off a bluff into the river to get
away. Took me 2 weeks to find it. My daughter has it
now. She always liked the space age style growing up
and when she got married and moved out, it went with
her. It'll go to my grand kid when she ever slows down
enough to have one.

Can I play?
I don't have all of them but I have quite a few. So many in fact that I started www.nylonrifles.com a few years ago to gather info. I have all the assembly/disassembly manual direction online and well as a bunch of other info. The website has been down for 6 or 7 months due to a virus attack. Just got it back up this week. There is also a forum. I also write about other stuff on the main page but the purpose of nylonrifles.com was to document everything about nylon rifles. Enjoy.

Great site mac66. I watched your disassemble/reassemble videos and cleaned up both of my Nylons back when I picked up my latest. I think I found Bob's in your forum too.

Those videos rock. I have never taken the trigger assembly apart cause heck the rest of the rifle was hard enough to put together.

I have 6 of them , all except the Galley one. Would like to sell all together for $3000 with a wood/glass show case. Just need the bucks for other toys.... That is all

Gee, of the 30 or so nylon rifles I have, not one cost me more than $100. If you can get $500 a piece for yours let me know who you are selling them too.  I would like to cash in on some of mine as well.

My brother took it down & couldn't get it back together ...
Handed me a shoebox fulla parts .... 
... Took me a while to figure it out & get it back together ...

Putting them back together is tricky which is why we have field service manuals and assembly and disassembly guides on the website. We also have a video on how to do it.

Remington 22
 ..I had one of the black Apache models with the chrome barrel and reciever. It was tube fed from the rear of the stock. It ws a heck of a gun and had it for many years. But when I don't use one of my guns in some time, I sell it and get something else. I sold it to a good friend and have been trying to buy it back for the past 4 years. Bummer!

Has anyone figured out a simple repair for the rear sight when the elevation screw is stripped?
I am kicking myself for having my choice of 1/2 dozen at a big guns shop at a ridiculous low price and I only bought one.
I am trying to get a manufacture date on it because I suspect it is a first year and since I was born that year and in the middle of that worlds record shooting event with the Nylon, I'd like to verify it.

The date is a two letter code located on the barrel in front of the rear sight on the left side. First letter is the month, second is the year.
Here is a link to how to date them....

I still have a Black Nylon 66 with stainless steel barrel and receiver. Got it when I was a kid around 9 years old. Love it. Still shoots accurate.

Could be an early first year rifle, pretty nice. Does it had a thumb screw type windage knob or a tiny little slotted screw? The big head screw is on early rifles. The small head was introduced 1964ish.
