Now is the Time! ! !
It is now the perfect time for Glock to intoduce the G26 slimline, single stack 9 mm and call it the "New York Model"!
It will be a single stack with a 7 round magazine, thinner grip and slide, Gen 4 style grip adjustments and marketed specifically to meet the ridiculous new laws passed in new York recently. It would compete witht the Kimber Solo, Ruger LC9, etc.
If they don't, it makes no sense for anyone in NY to own a Glock. Why carry a pistol as wide as a 26, 19 or 17 when you are limited to 7 rounds? A year or two back I mentioned I'd like to see Glock build soemthing like this on this board, and IIRC, people told me I was crazy and that it would never happen. Now, however, it seems like it would make perfect sense to do something like that. Even though I don't live in NY, I know that I'd probably buy one for pocket carry, etc.
What do you think about the NEW YORK GLOCK?

Yeah but just because it is a good idea doesn't mean they will do it. Besides Glock is 6,020,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 pistols behind production so no way they'll introduce anything at the 2013 shot show.

I guess you haven't read the half dozen G30S threads.

I agree with the original poster. I would love a slimmer Glock 26.

Tiro - what the heck is a "JAMBOG"? And although this idea had been brought up before, that was before the current situation in New York came about - if you like Glocks and happen to live in NY - wouldn't you rather carry a slimmer and lighter Glock rather than loading 7 rounds in your G17? A "New York" Glock seems to make perfect sense given the recent developments. Heck, they already have a "NY trigger", now they could have a "NY Glock" to put it in!

It would be a lot easier for Glock to just make 7 round G26 mags.

But then you are back to having a gun that is bigger and wider than it needs to be to hold only 7 rounds. Its like the good old days of the AWB when people were carrying 10 rd mags in their 15 and 17's.
They did it with the .45, why not do it with the 9 mm - especially with the recent change in laws in New York? Seems like the time is perfect to do it. Be honest with yourselves - you know you'd buy one if they offered it! It would be the J frame of the auto world!
Bring out the NEW YORK GLOCK - with the NY trigger, carry two of them and you can do the "New York Reload!"

So that would put Glock where S&W was in 2000?

I will take two also. Doubt if Glock will ever make us a single stack 9 though. Glock seems to have just given the single stack 9mm market away. jw38

If it came to it, I'd rather have a single stack .40/10mm.

The 30S uses existing parts. They'd have to retool to make a 26S/27S

Would we all like to see it happen? Yep.
Are many of us going to throw up if we see another thread pop up about it? Yep

While most of you newbies (anybody that joined Glock Talk after 2001 like me!) are expressing negative feelings about my most excellent marketing idea, I thought of a new question:
Does this NY law only apply to autos? What about the S&W 8 shot .357 revolvers and other like them that hold more than 7 rounds?
