Greetings from Tulsa, OK
My wife and I took our concealed carry class this past saturday here in Tulsa. Ever since then, I apparently got the gun bug. All I have been doing is reading, researching and more reading as to what I want, getting to know the terminology, etc etc.
I am relatively new to guns other then the shotgun I currently own. I stumbled across this site on a google search of something I cant remember. None the less, I have been reading these forums for two days now and its fanstastic!!
First purchase will probably be a glock 23 gen 4, and most likely at the same time a sig p250 either 9mm or 40. Any thoughts on the sig? I have read up plenty about the glock and shot with it over the weekend. I liked the feel of the Sig at a gun shop here in Tulsa yesterday. Thoughts...good or bad?
Thanks

Welcome from St Louis - good advice to rent some guns at a good range. Try and take it slow and know why you want each gun - even the Glocks - hehe!!

yeah apparently the story so far is that one of the two suspects arrested (who the media is reporting as white hispanic...wtf??) his dad was killed 2yrs ago at a ghetto horrible apt complex. This was the anniversary of that, so him and a buddy decide to drive down the street shooting at black people at 1-3am. Now what people are doing walking down the stree from 1-3am in one of the worst parts of town is beyond me, but none the less they were arrested, held on 3 counts of murder, felony possession of a firearm, conspiracy to commit murder. Each suspects bond is over 9 million dollars. GOOD LUCK

small world indeed!! TU (atleast used to be) the smallest division 1 school in the country with a student population of just over 3200. They have done some great things there the past few years, campus looks AMAZING!!

welcome aboard!
I can suggest the US Shooting Academy as a good place to shoot and to check out different guns to decide what you want. They also have a lot of good training there to help with your progress in shooting.

thats where we took our cc class. Our instructor, John Zane, was quite knowledgeable and very humerous, interesting. And from the looks/story about his accident back in Dec, lucky to be alive. My buddy let me borrow his ruger P89 9mm that my wife shot with and I rented a glock 19, wanted a 22/23 but they didnt have any. They do have quite a decent selection of guns to rent. But I didnt see any Sigs at all. I work at the airport, and every year for the past few years, they have held a national sniper competition there with teams from diff depts coming from ALL OVER the country. Pretty incredible.

glad to see some local people on here as well. I tried stopping by 2A this past Sunday (Easter) and they were closed. I ended up going into Dongs just west of there and getting some prices on a few diff glocks and a sig 250. So far, from what I can tell, they have the best prices in town by atleast 30 bucks.
Most of my time lately has been spent between this board and also okshooters.com.

I agree completly! 2A is an awesome place to shoot! Well-lighted, good selection of guns, Staff is knowledgable, and they have an in-house gunsmith. I live in Broken Arrow. I also assist in conducting Concealed Carry Classes in the area. I currently run a Glock 23. Best handgun I've ever owned/operated.

I love Dongs. (I think they know me by my first name....LOL)
Is that scary, or what?.....
I assist in conducting Concealed Carry Classes in the area. I'd be glad to answer any questions you might have. Or just good conversation.
