Should I get a Ruger 22/45
This specific one seem to be a blued version with fixed sights and a 4" Fluted barrel.
Is it worth $275?

I'd rather have a MKIII but that's just my opinion. I say get one!

The problem is there are several variants of it and I can't find this specific one on Ruger's website.

I've never shot one. What's the draw of this type of .22 versus something like the sr-22? Not poo-poohing it. Just curious about their popularity. Is it sort of the pistol equivalent of the 10/22 rifle?

I've got the stainless 7.5" fluted bull barrel MkIII 22/45 Hunter and it's a GREAT gun! Accurate as hell. Would hit a squirrel in the eyeball at 300 yards!!!...if you were lucky.

If it has 1911-esque removable grip panels, I have no reservations in advising you to buy it.
The 22/45 without the replaceable panels didn't feel right in my hands.

The 22/45 is a heavy duty pistol, while the SR22 is more or less a range toy.
And yes, it is sort of the equivalence of the 10/22. You have accessories out of the wazoo for it.

I have the 22/45 with a suppressor and LOVE it. Nothing like pulling out that baby and blowing through 200 rounds in an afternoon for almost no money. I say get it now.

I say DO IT!!! But then again, I've a little biased.... I do own 2 22/45's, a GSG 1911-22, and walther p22, along with an advantage arms kit on my g19. And the 22/45 is my favorite. Best trigger, feeds anything, fairly accurate, and it's affordable.

It doesn't have replaceable grips. I already have a 10/22 so I think I'll get it.

I had one a few years ago, and actually got bored shooting it. It was a 4" bull barrel with adjustable sights, but I had an inexpensive BSA red dot sight on it. The range I go to most of the time only has 7 yard pistol ranges. It got so if I wasn't hitting the "X" ring on the target I counted it as a miss. When I shot the center out of the target I just shot for the hole in the paper.
I traded it off for something else, but did replace it later with a standard MK III, 4" barrel, fixed sights. Great little guns, and I'm a revolver guy.

Especially if you do not already have a .22 pistol my guess is that you will enjoy it alot.

Can anyone identify this model for me? I want to know if it is tapped for a rail so I can put a red dot on it for fun shooting.

Just got back from the range, shot the new .22/45 Lite (wife's new gun, with the Gold colored shroud, $379 plus tax at Sportsman's Warehouse) and my old bull barreled MKII, the new one is as accurate as the old one.
My Old Mk II had a great trigger job done on it many years ago, the new one of course isn't as nice, but it' s not bad for an off the shelf pistol either, I like the gun, I like the ergonomics of it and how light the little sucker is, it's a fun little shooter and I think she's going to really enjoy it.

Haven't you learned that every single post that starts with "should I buy" always ends up with a resounding yes?
We are all of the agreement that more toys means more fun. :tongue out:

Well, I got it.
It doesn't have a rail or per tapped for a rail. Anyone ever added a rail to a MKIII?
