This day SUCKS

Well the day I feared has finally come. My wife has given me an unltimatum, either my much loved dog's go, or she does.

After looking around none of the shelter's locally operate a no kill policy. I'm dammed if I'm going to do that to my dog's.

I just don't know what to say, I'm lost for word's.

What is her reasoning?
Is the dog aggressive towards her or others?

A similar thing happened to my wife's uncle. His wife was constantly belittling him and putting him down. All he had that he loved were his two pointers.
She forced him to get rid of them. After he had nothing left and was essentially a broken man she divorced him and became a lesbian.

Lock both in your trunk all day, when you open it, who is happy to see you? There's your choice.

Im sorry to hear this man. Unless the dogs are threatening toward her I wouldn't do it. It's not that you love them more than her but that she doesn't love you enough to make the sacrifice. She is clearly not happy right now and has it in her mind that this is the reason. You will get rid of your dogs and she will see that they are not the reason and leave you anyways. Then you will be without her and the dogs.

Unless they're aggressive I'd file for divorce.

Dogs are not disposable. If you go along with this there will be something else soon, you will have the same results AND you will have lost your dogs.

no brainer decision

I got divorced, she got the car, I got the dogs

Sorry you are in that spot. If she has that kind of attitude, even if you toss the dog out, I doubt she will be around for any great length of time anyway. Good luck.

People that want you to get rid of the things you love need a re-evaluation.

Such a shame - I'm sure she had some good points....
