If semi-autos were banned, what would you carry?
I'm thinking a 3" 686 Plus. I would hate the size and weight, but I would have to adapt.
Given the reduced capacity I think I would be toting a BUG regularly, probably either my 642 or a snubbie .357 just for ammo compatibility.

I don't think they can ban semi-autos. But if they did, I would still carry the ones I already have. I'm not complacent enough to say if they ban certain guns then I'll have to carry something else.

id probably go with a pair of 3" SP101s. maybe a 4" full size with a ja frame back up as well.
i wouldnt feel under gunned with a revolver but definitely prefer my Glock 35 im not too certain that a weapons ban of that magnitude would go over all that well.

Time to take back the US if that happened. I mean get involved in elections, assuming at that time if we have them. Ever heard of a slippery slope?
Totalitarian regimes always want you unarmed and subject to their rule. This is why we have the second amendment, and the first.

I hate the idea of no semi-auto, but I'll still play
Pretty simple for me, S&W 642.

It would be tough to conceal, but probably a Smith & Wesson 686 4".

If they banned semi-autos I'd have to carry a full auto.

My worthy...if semiautos were banned...it would be time for ALL of us to carry them.
I don't know of even 5% of the officers with whom I worked or even our political hack of a chief who would even try to enforce a gun ban or grab...especially here in Arizona.
My wife is a currently serving officer (deputy) and I know damned well 99.99% of HER department wouldn't.
I think the sheriff would open the seized weapon locker and hand out semiautos and badges to everyone who isn't an otherwise prohibited possessor. (Yes...that is hyperbole...but I wouldn't be too darned surprised if he didn't just do it).
So, I stick to my answer....if they try to ban them...we had better ALL carry one.
But...in the spirit of the OP...Smith & Wesson 4" 686-2. I wouldn't go with a newer one because I have had this one for 25 years...I have 2 or 3 dozen speedloaders...I compete with it in IDPA and USPSA during the summer months of the calender...and the action was done by the late Andy Cannon.

Yeah, but really. They're not getting banned. I won't advocate breaking any laws, but I really doubt something like that could happen in this country. At least not in our lifetimes.
I've got 14 guns, and yep, they are ALL semi-autos. So basically, the thread is asking, what I'd carry if all my guns were banned. I'd probably be carrying a lawyer or a politician, and not sure exactly where I'd be carrying them off to.
Just kidding, stay within the laws guys. Our legal system lets us change unjust laws.

Glock 23 in my holster, AR-15 over my shoulder and a Mossberg 500 somewhere in between the 2.
But I'd probably just start out with my Ruger GP100
